WELCOME

Welcome to the our website.

CFES/FCST - the unified voice for earth science in Canada - works to raise awareness of the importance of earth science in Canadians' daily lives. It also works to enhance the understanding and appreciation of the role of Earth Sciences in environmental, natural hazard and climate studies and in securing and responsibly developing Canada's energy, mineral and water resources.

CFES/FCST was established in 2006 as the successor to the Canadian Geoscience Council (CGC). CFES is an umbrella organization of 12 Canadian member societies and 2 cooperative groups (the list of member organizations is here). Our constituency represents industry (minerals, hydrocarbons, environmental/geotechnical), government (Provincial/Territorial Geological Surveys) and Academia, in total, an estimated 20,000 Canadian earth scientists.  CFES/FCST also closely cooperates with 4 observer organizations.

This website is only in English. We are working on a French site and apologize for not having realized that yet.
