Welcome to the homepage for the National Committee for the International Union of Geological Sciences (CNC-IUGS) and the National Committee for the International Geoscience Programme (CNC-IGCP). This website contains information about both initiatives at the national and international levels.

Our mission is to keep the Canadian geoscience community informed and involved in the S and T accomplishments of fellow Canadian geologists participating in international activities as well as keeping the national community apprised of important international geoscience issues that may directly or indirectly affect Canada's geoscience sector.

It is estimated that there are approximately 30,000 earth scientists in Canada including undergraduate/graduate students, academics, federal/provincial/territorial employees, private sector practioners.
