Careers in Geoscience Booklet
The Careers in Geoscience booklet continued to be distributed from Waterloo, and, at year end 1994, copies on hand amounted to less than two dozen English and approximately 1,500 French. As mentioned in the 1994 Annual Report a preliminary CD-ROM had been completed. Unfortunately this had been prepared using Microsoft's "Multimedia Viewer" software, and Microsoft announced in 1995 that they were no longer supporting the package. Work commenced in July on a second version (at the same time placing the current copy on a web page). By the Fall of 1995 the second version had been finished. This was presented to the meeting of Council and there was general agreement that the production of a CD-ROM should follow. The Annual Report of the Geosciences in Canada
The Annual Report of the Geosciences in Canada is a document which has been produced each year since 1972. It is distributed through the Geological Survey of Canada to most major public libraries and institutional libraries in Canada (about 350 copies) with a further 250 copies going to other international and national recipients. The 1994 Annual Report (produced in 1995) was the first CGC Annual Report made available on the Internet as a WWW item. Since then I have made the 1995 Annual Report available.
